Hilux – Boards & Tiles
Hilux – Calcium Silicate – Board & Tiles
A huge range of building materials is available today, it is becoming in increasingly difficult to make an informed choice – with such a wide range of attributes, finishes and forms. Deciding which material to choose, is quite a challenge.
But there can be no debate that for critical applications as partitioning, paneling and false ceiling, hard core, functional product attributes should definitely take precedence over aesthetics, workability and finish. Hilux Calcium Silicate Boards provides best structural properties. It rates highest on crucial parameters like fire, water and termite resistance, among others. Quite simply, it is the best-rated board for dry walls and ceilings.

Water Resistant : Hilux Boards, when immersed in water for 24 hours, will loose its strength marginally but regains its full strength as soon as it is dry. Hence it is a water resistant board and can be used in high humidity areas or where there is risk of water coming in contact with the board. |

Acoustic : Sound Insulation& Absorption – Hilux Calcium Silicate Boards help in reduction of sound transmission, because of its nature. However, this can be enhanced by putting mineral wool in the cavity of wall/partition and behind the board in case of false ceiling. |

Strong & Durable : The Stable Crystalline structure makes the boards strong and durable. The boards are strong enough to take normal impacts. They do not degrade or deteriorate physically |
![]() |
Light Weight : Hilux Boards are light in weight therefore can be handled easity. Its dry density is 850kg/m2 |
![]() |
Dimensional Stability : The autoclaving process gives the board a stable crystalline structure and excellent dimension stability |
![]() |
Termite Resistant : Hilux Boards are made of inorganic minerals and have stable crystalline structure. This Makes the boards termite resistant and the material does not aid in fungus growth. The boards are not affected by insects, vermin, micro-organisms and will not nourish mould growth |

Light Reflection : undecorated boards provides 75% light reflection. |
![]() |
Compatibility : The Hilux Boards do not aid corrosion, saponification of paints or affect bituminous compounds. Hilux Boards are compatible with most common building materials. |
![]() |
Flexibility : Hilux boards are very flexible to design. 6mm boards can be bent (minimum radius-600mm) to provide curved surfaces. Boards will bend more easity, if bent across their long axis when they are wet or saturated. |

Easy Workability : Hilux Boards Can be carved, grooved, planed or cut in desired shape and sizes with ordinary carpenter’s tools and can also be sanded with conventional emery sheets. |
![]() |
Screw / Nail Holding : Hilux Boards have the capacity to hold nails and screws and do not require any backing frame to hang light weight objects like picture frames. |
![]() |
Decoration : The boards can be decorated with any type of paint, wall paper, wood veneer or hard laminate of 1mm thickness. Ceramic tiles can also be pasted to Hilux boards, using suitable adhesive. Interior designers and architects can give free reign to their imagination when working with Hilux. |

Working & Fixing : Working is possible with ordinary carpenter’s tools like hand saws, power saws, power drills and sand paper or sanders. It is very easy to cut, drill holes and sand Hilux Boards. Normal fixing methods using hammer, nails and self-tapping screws make it possible to fix the boards to any background. It is also possible to stick Hilux Boards with adhesives and glues. Hilux Boards may be screw fixed to a suspended metal frame, in case of ceilings or vertically placed metal frame, in case of partitions with self-tapping screws as per standard practices.

Applications
Hilux is a versatile building board with fire- resistance and moisture resistance properties, with a smooth surface, very strong edges and a core without voids. This unique combination of features and advantages makes it easy to use in both insulated and non-insulated applications for protective and decorative purposes.
The boards are used for any section in the interiors of building because of their unique performance and features
