Everest Board Partition and Wall Lining
EVEREST – PARTITION
Unlike traditional brick / block walls which involve wet construction methods, Everest Drywalls are constructed with modern fast and dry construction techniques.
Lighter in Weight – Everest Drywalls are 1/4th the weight of conventional wall.
• Structural Cost Saving
• Easy & economical material and waste handling.
• Walls ideal for seismic conditions
• Sleeker walls for greater heights
• Does not require beam system for support (flexibility in future layout changes)
Faster to Erect – Everest Drywalls can be constructed 3 times faster than conventional Walls
• Faster Completion of project
• Speed in money.
Dry Construction Process – Everest Drywalls are erected through dry construction technique, unlike conventional walls which are constructed through wet construction methods.
• Clean & Non – Messy erection process
• Easy and economical waste disposal
• Allows parallel construction activities at site.
• Saves precious water. Eliminates curing time and cost.
Better Performance Parameters – Sleeker & lighter Everest Drywalls with enhanced parameters.
• Sound Insulation ranging from 38 – 65db
• Fire rating ranging from 30 – 120 Mins (& Above) –Drywalls can be designed for higher performance parameters as per customer’s need.
• K – Value of Everest Fiber Cement Board & Heavy Duty Fiber Cement Board are 0.145 & 0.16 W/mk respectively.
• U – Value of Everest Drywall Systems vary from as low as 0.53 to 0.34 W/m2k (lower the K & U value, better is the insulation)
Everest External Wall System helps in improving building Envelope Performance.
Everest Internal Wall System contributes towards energy efficient interiors.
Strength
Compressive strength of Drywalls are irrelevant as they are used as Non- Load bearing filler wall. Hence to evaluate the strength of Drywall, its impact Resistance can be compared with that of conventional brick wall.
All Everest Drywall systems (Hollow / Hybrid / Solid – Internal & External), Fall under “Severe Duty” of Impact resistance, which is equivalent to that of conventional brick wall.
Impact Resistance | ||
Parameters | Conventional Walls | Everest Drywalls. |
Stiffness | Severe Duty | Severe Duty |
Small Hard Body Impact | Severe Duty | Severe Duty |
Large Soft Body Impact | Severe Duty | Severe Duty |
Door Slam | Severe Duty | Severe Duty |
Crowd Pressure | 3 kN/m | 3 kN/m |

Everest partitions consist of Everest Wall Board / Heavy Duty Wall Board, screw fixed to either side of timber, aluminium or light weight galvanized metal frames. The Partitions are non-load bearing and can easily be assembled at site. The partitions can be used in most types of buildings, new or existing, like Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Educational Institutions, Hotels and Hospitals, Simple to multiple story buildings etc. The Partitions can be simple space divisions, office cubicles [low height partitions] to greater height partitions These Partitions can be erected in high humid areas and under humid conditions. The light weight metal sections in the partitions make it cost effective and contribute towards savings on structural costs.
Standard Steel Framed Partition with 8mm or 10mm or 12mm Everest Wall Board
General Description
A non load bearing steel framed 66mm, 70mm & 74mm thick partition of a facing of both side of one layer of 8mm, 10mm & 12mm respectively
Main System : 66mm, 70mm & 74mm thick metal stud partition comprising of a facing of both side of one layer of 8mm, 10mm & 12mm Everest Wall Board screw respectively, fixed with 25 mm self tapping screws at 200 mm centers to a G. I. metal frame built up with 50 mm stud of 0.6 mm thick and having unequal flanges of 50mm X 48mm placed at 610 mm center to center in 50 mm floor and ceiling channel of anchored to floor and ceiling at 600 mm center where height of partition greater than length of the board. The edged of the board are to be backed by horizontal bracing members bridging the vertical studs. The facing boards are to be staggered to avoid coinciding on the same stud.
Boarding System : 8mm, 10mm or 12mm Everest Wall Board is then screwed to ceiling section with 25 mm drywall for 66mm, 70mm or 74mm thickness respectively, screws at 200 mm centers. Screw fixing is done mechanically either with screw driver of drilling machine with suitable attachment. The boarding is to be done keeping a gap of 2 mm from all sides of the boards and making a 3 mm tapered edge on the two sides of the boards.
Jointing & Finishing : Finally the boards are to be jointed and finished so as to have a flush look which includes filling and finishing the square edges of the boards with Lime & PVA based material with Fiber Tape.
Partition System is generally based on factors like
• Fire Protection
• Sound Insulation
• Thermal Conductivity / Thermal Resistance / Thermal Transmittance
• Height of Partition
Specification for Partitions based on above factors and with Heavy Duty Wall Boards available on request.
